Hair physics
Hair that swings when the head moves: a warp per strand, a parameter per swing, and a physics group to drive it.
1. A sway parameter
Add a parameter Hair Front from -1 to 1, default 0, with keys at -1, 0 and 1.
2. A warp on the hair
Put the front hair strands under a warp (inside the head's warp, so they also turn with the head). At key 1, bend the bottom of the grid to the right with the roots kept still; at -1, to the left. Reflect mirrors one into the other.
3. The physics group
Open Modeling > Physics settings and Add… a group named Hair Front.
- Inputs: Angle X as Position X (effectiveness about 60), Angle Z as Angle (about 40).
- Output:
Hair Frontfrom the last pendulum, Angle. - Pendulums: two or three; longer Duration swings slower, lower Ease of swinging settles faster.
Watch the Pendulum preview while you move Angle X, or press Swing.
4. Try it
Turn on Physics and Follow in the toolbar and move the mouse around the canvas: the head follows it and the hair swings after. Export: the swing goes out in physics3.json.
