Settings
File > Environment Settings… opens the Settings window. It has six tabs: General, Appearance, Canvas, Performance, API and Keyboard. Everything applies as you change it unless a row says otherwise, and it is saved in your config folder, so it follows you between models.
General
Language
- Language: System, English, Afrikaans, Nederlands, 日本語, 한국어 or 简体中文. System follows your computer's language. The translations were made with tools, so corrections are welcome: each language is one JSON file, and a file with the same name in your config folder's
i18ndirectory adds a language or overrides strings.
Startup
- Reopen last model: open whatever you had open when you quit.
- Start in fullscreen.
- Splash screen: shown by the launcher while the editor loads. Off skips straight to the editor.
- Splash particles: the drifting network behind the splash. Off keeps the splash still, which some machines prefer.
Timelapse
- Record timelapse: keep a
.timelapsefile beside each model while you work. See Timelapse.
Updates
- Check for updates: ask GitHub for a newer release when Ayatsuri2D starts. The launcher and the editor both honour this.
Discord
- Rich Presence: show "Rigging in Ayatsuri2D" in Discord. Needs the Discord app; it reconnects on its own when Discord starts later.
- Show the model's name: off by default, because file names can be client work.
- Application ID: leave empty for Ayatsuri2D's own; set your own to show a different name and icon.
Files
- Recent files: how many are remembered, and Clear to forget them.
Logging
- Log level: more detail helps bug reports. Raise it to Debug when something goes wrong, attach the log, then put it back.
- Log file: Copy path puts the log's location on the clipboard.
Appearance
Theme
- Theme: Dark, Light or System. System follows your desktop's light or dark setting.
- Primary colour: accents, selection and the launcher bar, with an alpha. Mesh lines on the canvas follow it unless you set their own colour under Canvas.
Layout
- Interface scale: zooms everything; good for high-DPI screens.
- Text size: Small, Normal, Large or Larger.
- Density: space between rows and controls. Compact, Comfortable or Roomy.
- Corners: rounding on buttons, menus and windows. Sharp, Subtle or Round.
Motion
- Reduce motion: no animated menus, fades or smooth scrolling.
- Reset appearance puts the whole tab back to the defaults.
Canvas
- Background: the colour behind the model's canvas, with alpha. Reset returns it to the theme's.
- Overlays: mesh lines, deformer handles and weights on the canvas. Mesh line width and colour, warp deformer colour, rotation deformer colour and weight colour. These are the same settings as the arrow tool's Tool Details, kept here so they are easy to find.
Performance
This model shows what the open model costs: visible meshes, vertices and the last evaluate time. If it is high, this is where to look before changing anything below.
Limits
- Animation frame cap: how often physics and Follow redraw. Off is uncapped; 30 is easy on laptops.
- Model anti-aliasing: Off, 2×, 4× or 8× samples on the model. Applies after a restart, and steps down on its own if the GPU can't do it.
- Renderer: wgpu on the GPU, shared with the interface, or the software fallback for machines with no usable driver.
API
- API window: status, connected apps and the data coming in. Open… shows it.
- Allowed apps: every app that has asked to connect, with Forget to remove one so it must ask again.
The port and remote access are in the API menu's settings. See Ayatsuri API.
Keyboard
Every action with a shortcut, grouped as in the menus. Search actions or keys finds one by name or by key. Click a binding and press the new keys; a binding used by another action is marked so you can decide which keeps it. Built in lists the keys the interface itself owns, which can't be changed. Reset all returns every shortcut to the defaults. The full list is under Keyboard shortcuts.
